Happy Friday everyone! I hope everyone has an exciting weekend plan. Mine actually looks a little tame compare to my previous weekend outings, which I?m actually looking forward to. I might actually have time to rest this weekend and MAYBE even spend some time by the pool!
This morning I did a fairly short run, due to my desperate need to find a bathroom halfway through it. Nothing like hearing nature?s call make a good run come to a sudden end.
Stats:
Duration: 3.52 miles
Time: 34 mins 20 secs
So basically I ran a 5k this morning. Not bad. Tomorrow I?m going to try some speed work and time how fast I can run a mile. I?m really interested to see how that goes. J
For breakfast I tried something that has been on my mind for a while. Mixing almond butter with my cereal! I have been thinking about for some time but when I saw Kath add it to her Cereal Surprise I knew the time had come for me to actually try it.
Since I don?t drink milk and am not the biggest fan of yogurt I had to think long and hard on how to make a tablespoon of almond butter evenly coat a bowl of cereal. Then, it hit me. Apple Sauce! I mean I usually use it in place of milk anyways, why not use it to blend with the almond butter? So I mixed in 1 tablespoon of almond butter with ½ cup of applesauce and microwaved for 30 secs to that the two would blend easily. I then added that to ½ cup of Kashi H2H and ½ cup of 365 Brand Peanut Butter Puffs. I sliced three strawberries and added that on top for a little color.
I have to tell you this was the perfect combination!
The almond butter mixed perfectly with the applesauce and just brought the whole cereal together. And I can definitely feel the difference on how much fuller I am with the addition of the protein from the almond butter. I don?t know why I waited so long to do this combination!
So just a few more hours until the weekend! I know I have really been downing going out to eat lately, but a friend of mine (who I haven?t seen since I moved down here) invited me to Chili?s and I feel too bad saying no. I know they have some healthy options on their menu, but I?m still feeling very blah about it. Anyone have any good suggestions on what I should get that won?t leave me feeling so icky afterwards?

Fast Oats!

I started the day yesterday with a bowl of oats, depsite running late. I’m not sure why I hadn’t thought of it in a while but instead of the long process of using the stovetop, I used the microwave. No babysitting, to constant[...]http://whatiateyesterday.wordpress.com/2008/1...

Yesterday was a really busy day but awesome! I started out pretty early for a Saturday with a bowl of oatmeal. I made it in the microwave with 1/2 rolled oats, 1 cup milk, a pinch of salt, flax seed, cinnamon, nutmeg and a banana. Once it was[...]http://whatiateyesterday.wordpress.com/2008/1...

Herb butter.....the best there is.

Everyone should have a herb garden, simply because there are few things as rewarding as picking your own herbs to use in your recipes. Herbs can take a simple recipe to another level in no time...think scrambled eggs with snipped chives, tomato[...]http://www.my-easy-cooking.com/2008/08/herb-b...

Easy Morning

It’s gray and rainy and kind of gross here in Boston this morning, but, for some reason, I bounded out of bed well before my alarm was scheduled to go off. I have a hefty to-do list for today, so I figured that I might as well get up and[...]http://carrotsncake.com/2008/11/easy-morning....

She Says: I Heart asics!

I got some new sneakers last night. Isn’t that the best? They are a Christmas present, but I convinced my mom to let me wear them once, just to make sure they were a good fit and all. I wore them this morning and banged out 7 miles to add to[...]http://www.hangrypants.com/2008/11/she-says-i...
