Tonight was so much fun, especially for my taste buds.
My cousin (Angela)and I decided to hit up the Orlando Greek Festival for some yummy authentic Greek eats with a couple of her friends. I am a HUGE fan of Greek food so this was right up my ally. I know there was more stuff going on there, but food was the only thing I was focused on.
My cousin is a big fan of my blog and a regular reader. She kept asking me if I was going to take a picture of ’so and so’ for the blog. I told her we could take a pic and I would put it up to give her a shout out (Hi Ange!) It’s nice to have a fan (even if she is a related one).
Once arriving at the festival I some how magicially arrived the wine and cheese tastings. It’s amazing how that happens.
I sampled these 4 wines….
Three reds and one white. I really like the red Notios the best. I like my wine nice and dry and this was perfect. I’m not a fan of white wine but they told me the white Notios is nice and dry. I still wasn’t a fan. It had been chilled and it made me realize I really don’t like chilled wine at all. I will just have to stick to my room temp reds from now on.
After the wine I was more then ready for the food. ( I have to warn you I’m pretty sure this meal was not healthy at all, but it was good!)
From left to right I got the Moussaka (Eggplant with meat and bechamel sauce), a White Roll, Dolmathes (Stuffed grape leaves with ground meat and rice), and Green Beans. I really wanted a nice traditional Greek meal and this really hit the spot. I happily cleaned my plate.
I also had a bite of my cousin’s Gryo. As you can see it was a little heavy in tsaziki sauce, but still pretty yummy.
And last, but not least you can not forget about the Greek pasteries!!! I had to stop myself from eating these first!!!
On top I got a Amygthalota (almond cookie with apricot filling) and on bottom is a Flogeres (baklava rolled with chocolate drizzle). I was really wanting baklava and when I saw the flogeres was just chocolate covered baklava I knew that we were a match made in heaven. I bought two pastries hoping to save one and bring it home for later, but somehow they both ended up in my mouth by the end of the night….
I know I was bad, but it was too good not to be bad. I probably ate a zillion calories tonight, but it was my one night to let lose and just enjoy the atmosphere. You only live once! I do have an 8+ mile run planned tomorrow that will hopefully counteract those zillion calories
Well now I am STUFFED! I have some new comfy jammies on, a good movie playing and Abbie by my side. Another great Saturday has come to an end. Good Night everyone!

I started the day yesterday with another bowl of Tj’s Honey Nut O’s topped with walnuts, banana and this time I chose plain hemp milk. I really do enjoy the plain hemp milk in my cereal, it has a nice creamy flavor without being too[...]http://whatiateyesterday.wordpress.com/2008/1...

Good day to forget to set the alarm...

As the title of this post alludes to, I "forgot" to set my alarm last night... It's cold, rainy, dreary and Kris has the day off. So it was sooooooo nice to just lounge in bed together for a while this morning. We never get to do that anymore, we[...]http://newtritionista.blogspot.com/2008/10/go...

Low-fat Strawberry Cheesecake!
Added 10/11/2008 06:56:00
Low-fat, sugar-free and high-fiber are not terms that I necessarily look for when trying out new recipes!. No, no, I look for creamy, sweet, decadent, comforting and delicious. I should be looking to the healthier options, but something inside[...]http://www.my-easy-cooking.com/2008/11/low-fa...
