The “Pamper Party” ended up being a Mary Kay party, which, when I found out, I wasn’t psyched. However, our “party” ended up being a lot more fun than I expected!

Our night started off with snacks and wine. Thanks to all of you that suggested appetizers for me to bring! Quite a few of you suggested cheese and crackers, and that’s what I brought. At Stop & Shop, I bought a wheel of brie, crackers, and some roasted red pepper tapenade. At Walgreens, I purchased a cute jack-o-lantern plate and a “votive candle holder” for the tapenade, which only cost me $1.30, so I wasn’t worried about getting my dishes back from the host. I feel like I always end up leaving my dishes at other people’s houses, and then I don’t see them again for months. Becca– the pumpkin plate and votive holder are all yours! Thanks for hosting last night! :)

The Hot Roasted Red Pepper Tapenade from Stop & Shop’s “Simply Enjoy” line was very good! (It wasn’t hot at all.) I highly recommend it for a gathering like this– it’s simple, easy, and yummy. All I did was pour it into a small dish and serve. It was a hit at the party too. I’m pretty sure we ate all of it!

Just a quick FYI about the “Simply Enjoy” line– While it’s a premium line of “luxury” foods, the ingredients are not always high quality. I originally picked up a box of the “Simply Enjoy Assorted Crackers” for the party, but when I checked the ingredients, I realized that they included hydrogenated oils. Bummer, right? :( However, their Roasted Red Pepper Tapenade seemed to “check out” just fine! And it was delicious! So, I guess I am just saying be aware and informed. :)

The crackers that I decided on was a box of Back to Nature Organic Stoneground Wheats, which were AWESOME! These crackers were hearty, flavorful, and crunchy. There are no hydrogenated oils in these babies! In fact, they don’t have any artificial preservatives, flavors or colors of any kind.

Other snacks at the party included: Tostitos tortilla chips and Tostitos Southwestern dip…

and a colorful spread of veggies with a homemade dill dip that my sister made. I chowed on everything!

At the party, the girls drank a bottle of “Happily Ever After” wine! :)

I was in the mood for white wine, so I had a few (big) glasses of pinto grigio. I was definitely buzzed by the end of the night! It’s funny how that happens when you’re with your girlfriends! :)

The Mary Kay representative that ran the “Pamper Party” was nice, helpful, and very informed. We had a great time with her!

Here are our “beauty trays” with our customized facial products, which were based on our skin type. (I’m combination/oily! :) ) First, the representative instructed us through a multi-step facial, and then we got to try some Mary Kay make-up. I really liked their mineral make-up and mascara, but I just bought a ton of stuff from Clinique, so I decided to pass on any more purchases. Some of the other girls purchased products though.

Here are the ladies learning about proper Mary Kay skin care…

Breakfast

This morning’s breakfast is oats with oat milk, chopped dates, ground flaxseed meal, and walnuts… oh, and of course, 2 scoops of Barney Butter. I’m eating breakfast while blogging!

I’ve got a busy Saturday day ahead! After this blog post, I’m headed down to the gym for a quick run on the treadmill, and then I have an appointment for an hour-long deep tissue massage. I’ve been getting these horrible tension headaches all week, and I think they might be from carrying around tension in my upper back and neck. I hope the massage will loosen me up! After my massage, Mal and I are headed to my mom’s house to celebrate her birthday and do fun fall things with her (apple picking, pumpkin carving, etc.) I’m very excited! Happy weekend!!! :)
