Using Piloncillo in Your Recipes
Piloncillo is raw sugar that is pressed into the form a cone. It is used as a sweetener in traditional Mexican foods. To use piloncillo you shave the required amount from the cone to add your dish of choice.
Piloncillo comes in a variety of sizes. The small 2 oz. cone and the medium 4 oz. cones are most common.
Brown sugar has a similar taste and makes a good substitute in your recipes if piloncillo is unavailable.
