Good morning, blog world! I’m happy to report that I woke up on the right side of the bed today! Well, I technically sleep on the right side of the bed, so I suppose I get up on that side every morning, but you guys know what I mean! :)

After a great workout, I enjoyed a bowl of strawberry-almond oatmeal made with frozen strawberries, honey, ground flaxseed meal, almond slices sprinkled on top, and, of course, my morning scoop of Teddie chunky peanut butter.

The frozen strawberries tasted delicious in my oats this morning. I greatly miss fresh strawberries, but frozen ones are almost as wonderful!

Larabar Love

On Saturday afternoon, I received the BEST package of goodies! It was from Larabar as a thank you for being featured on the Larabar blog last week. I still think this is the coolest thing that has happened to Carrots ‘N’ Cake! :)

Inside the package was a variety box full of Larabars flavors, a bunch of which I haven’t yet tried! I am especially excited to sample the Banana Bread and Key Lime Pie flavors! :)

Also included in the package was a Larabar t-shirt (love it!) and some JamFrakas bars. I haven’t tried a JamFraka bar yet (in fact, I haven’t even seen them in stores), so I was super psyched to see these! Can’t wait to try them!

Larabar, THANK YOU for all of the goodies!!!!!

Workout

My workout was great this morning! I’m lucky to have a gym on the bottom floor of our apartment building. With it being so close, you’d think I’d be there all of the time, right? Well, I was… when we first moved into the building. I was getting married in a few months and trying to get myself in shape, so early morning workouts (and sometimes evening workouts in the same day) were no problem. However, after about a year of using the gym downstairs, I was bored. I mostly kept myself motivated with workouts that I tore out of magazines or found online, but I needed something else to keep me going… which is how I ended up at Healthworks. Long story short, I haven’t been utilizing our building’s gym lately, and this morning was the first time in awhile that I’ve had a tough, sweaty workout there! Here’s what I did…
